WAYFARERS?

The Club aims to encourage the enjoyment of the environment and create companionship by the provision of caravan and social events.

The meetings are generally held in an area defined within a circle, with Nottingham to the North, Newbury to the South, Cambridge to the East and Worcester to the West. Occasionally we visit places of interest further away or gather to visit a specific event.

The club events are usually once a month between March and November usually including Bank holidays. Normally these are weekend and holiday rallies staying up to 5 nights.

We remain a small friendly Club because the membership is limited to 60 couples/families.
This results in rally attendance of 10 to 20 outfits, which is just right for the best camaraderie.

The Club normally runs 5 day rallies, Thurs – Tues. to cater for working and retired club members. A Thursday/Friday evening gathering is held to welcome all and chat. On Saturdays members take the opportunity to explore the local area or there may be a group walk or other activity organised. Saturday evening a social gathering is usually held either in a local hostelry, hall or at the site. Normally we wind up on Monday morning with a gathering for coffee – all very simple but convivial. Sometimes a pub lunch is arranged or a meal like fish and chips is brought in.

The Wayfarers Caravan Club holds a Natural England Certificate of Exemption and is a member of ACCEO, the Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations.

Membership:
The current (2012) subscription is £1.00 but does not include ACCEO Personal Member subscription

The Natural England Certificate does not permit ‘temporary’ or ‘come and try it’ visitors. To assist newcomers the Club has therefore initiated a special first year one off subscription of £5.00 to encourage them to ‘come and try’. But – be warned – most of the Club’s active members ‘came and just tried’ and are now very enthusiastic Wayfarers.
